Made for the perfect cup of aōza matcha. This engraved purple bamboo chasen is hand-carved in China in the traditional Zhen style: a whisk shape designed to bring out the smooth foam and vibrant color of ceremonial matcha. Crafted from natural purple bamboo, each whisk has its own character: variations in wood tone, grain, and engraving depth are part of its handmade nature.
Use: Whisk 1–2 scoops of aōza matcha in hot water until frothy.
Material: Purple bamboo, engraved.
Care instructions:
- Before first use: soak the tips in warm water for 1–2 minutes to soften the bamboo.
- After each use: rinse with lukewarm water only. Do not use soap or dishwasher.
- Gently shake off excess water, pat with a cloth, and place on a whisk holder to keep its shape.
- Allow to air-dry completely before storing.
- Replace every 2–4 months with daily use, as the prongs naturally soften and separate over time.

Processing time
All orders placed before 16:00 on business days are processed and shipped on the same day. Orders placed during weekends or public holidays will be shipped on the next working day.
Shipping within the EU
- Free shipping on orders over €45
- For orders under €45, shipping costs are calculated at checkout
Delivery times (after shipping)
- The Netherlands: 1–2 business days
- EU: 2–7 business days, depending on the destination
Tracking
Once your order has shipped, you’ll receive a tracking link via email so you can follow your matcha all the way to your door.
Returns
For hygiene reasons, opened matcha cannot be returned.
